Australian Grand Prix Floating Pontoon Walkway

Maw Civil Marine was engaged to supply, install, and later deconstruct a temporary floating pontoon walkway across Albert Park Lake for the Australian Grand Prix. The structure included four gangways and full-length safety railings, providing pedestrian access across the lake during the event.

The installation involved setting concrete anchor blocks to secure the pontoon system, using a crane and barge to transport and position materials efficiently across the water. All works were carefully planned around event timelines and environmental requirements, ensuring minimal disruption to the lake environment.

Scheduled for staged delivery, the concrete anchor installation will be completed in October 2025, with full pontoon assembly and deconstruction to occur during the 2026 event period.
