Tankerton Boat Ramp Project

Maw Civil Marine was engaged to demolish and replace the existing boat ramp infrastructure at Tankerton to improve functionality, safety, and long-term durability. Works included removing deteriorated ramp structures, reconstructing the concrete ramp, and installing upgraded edge protection and access features to meet modern standards.

During the tender phase, Maw Civil Marine identified an opportunity to deliver the project more efficiently and cost-effectively than the original design. Following a detailed review, the team submitted a non-conforming tender proposing an alternative construction methodology that maintained compliance with performance outcomes while improving constructability.

The refined approach achieved significant cost savings, reduced construction timeframes, and enhanced build quality—demonstrating Maw Civil Marine’s capability for innovation, value engineering, and efficient delivery of marine infrastructure projects.
