About The Project

Maw Civil Marine delivered remediation works to stabilise and reinforce the existing seawall at Somers. The project involved reprofiling the deteriorated rock revetment, removing embedded timber piles, and extending the revetment toe to strengthen long-term coastal protection.

Additional granite armour rock was supplied and placed to form a continuous, stable structure with a 2 m crest and 1.5:1 slope. Access was achieved via a privately engineered temporary ramp, allowing efficient tide-dependent operations while minimising environmental impact.

Strict environmental and safety controls were maintained through pre-construction surveys, quality assurance hold points, and detailed as-built documentation. The project demonstrated Maw Civil Marine’s capability to manage high-risk activities within limited tidal windows, delivering a stable, compliant, and resilient seawall.
