About The Project
Maw Civil Marine constructed a concrete stepped seawall and rock revetment along the Sorrento foreshore to address coastal erosion and protect the Crown land behind it. The works involved removing the existing seawall and installing a new, climate-resilient structure designed for long-term protection and improved community access.
Completed in 2016, the project delivered a durable 50-year design life seawall with concrete steps that blend with the natural environment and refurbished timber bollards for added amenity. A rock revetment at the northern end also improved traffic flow near the ferry terminal.
Winner of the 2017 CCF Victoria Earth Award – Category 1, the project demonstrates Maw Civil Marine’s ability to deliver sustainable coastal infrastructure with precision, collaboration, and environmental care.
