Olivers Hill Seawalls and Bay St Repairs Project

Maw Civil Marine was engaged to remediate the existing masonry seawalls at Olivers Hill, Frankston, which provide vital protection to the adjacent carpark, walking path, and boat ramp along Port Phillip Bay. The two bluestone structures, totalling 465 metres in length, had reached the end of their design life and were classified as being in poor to very poor condition.

Works involved removing and replacing loose bluestone blocks, reinstating capping stones and stairs, repointing missing mortar, and restoring pavement and drainage behind the wall to original condition.

During construction, two major storm events and high tides caused additional damage and extended the project timeline. Despite these challenges, Maw Civil Marine completed the remediation safely and to specification, restoring the seawalls’ stability and extending their service life along the Frankston coastline.
